Know Your Rights

ALL Medical Marijuana Patients

Always have your recommendation and your driver’s license or ID card on you when carrying any amount of medical marijuana.

Medical marijuana must NEVER be in reach while you are driving.  Medical marijuana MUST be in the trunk of the vehicle or if you drive an SUV, van or truck, you MUST have medical marijuana as far away from you as possible.  Law enforcement views medical marijuana as they do an open container of alcohol.  If they smell it or see it, they can accuse you of DUI (Driving Under the Influence).

It is NOT necessary to apply for the County Medical Marijuana card.  You are 100% legal with the recommendation the doctor has given you.  If you own or operate a collective or transport more than an ounce of medical marijuana in the State of California, we DO recommend that you apply for the county medical marijuana program in the county YOU live in.

Patients Under the Age of 21

Never have medical marijuana in the car with you while driving.  Law enforcement can merely mention medical marijuana to the Department of Motor Vehicles in relation to you, and you will have your driver’s license suspended for a year.  Even if you do not receive a citation, the DMV can suspend your driver’s license.  DO NOT DRIVE with medical marijuana on you.

Carlsbad Medical Marijuana Patients

Due to Carlsbad Police Officers NOT following their own Medical Marijuana Policy, we supply you with a copy.  Please read the policy and keep it on the back of your recommendation.

We recommend the following websites to keep up with current California medical marijuana laws:

NORML.org

SafeAccessNow.org

SocialRightsLaw.com

VOTE NO on PROP 64 – It re-criminalizes medical marijuana, restricts your ability to grow your own, share with another patient and will limit THC content to 10% or lower, making non-medicinal.  Wait for a bill that does NOT allow corporations and cartels to own the mmj industry and doesn’t allow the government to tax it at 42% and then use the revenues for whatever or whomever they decide to give it to.
